harmonizations II: interval chords
Chords can be built with a wide variety of consonances, meaning any tone interval can be used.
Vincent Persichetti's (1915-1987) Twentieth-Century Harmony: Creative Aspects and Practice (1961) shows three basic ideas: intervals with equal distances, intervals of the same interval number and mixed intervals.
Many interesting examples of the use of interval chords can be found in Mikrokosmos (1926-39) by Béla Bartók (1881-1945).
