EXPLORING THE CIRCLE OF FIFTHS
Since preluding is a discipline that involves training in all keys, a general introduction to all 24 keys is recommended. It is advised to practice harmonic progressions and short preludes in all 24 keys, following the Circle of Fifths, as soon as one’s learning pace and situation allow.
The advantage of this approach lies in developing an understanding of the system of keys, the position and function of notes within chords, and the harmonic functions of the chords within each key.
